Conrado Engel is a member of our board of directors. Conrado is a Senior Advisor at General Atlantic, providing strategic support and advice to the firm’s investment teams and portfolio companies in Latin America.
Before joining General Atlantic in 2020, he served as Senior Executive Vice President at Banco Santander Brasil from 2012 to 2017, where he oversaw the Retail and Wealth Management & Specialized Businesses, including Auto Joint Ventures. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors and Risk and Compliance Committee at Banco Santander from 2012 to 2019.
Prior to Santander, Conrado held several senior roles at HSBC between 2004 and 2012, including CEO of HSBC Brasil and Retail Director for HSBC Asia Pacific. Conrado also served as CEO at Financeira Losango from 1998 to 2004, and before that he held senior positions at Banco Nacional-Unibanco. He began his career at Citibank.
Conrado is currently the Vice Chairman of StoneCo and sits on the board of Unico. Conrado holds a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica.
