Laura González Estéfani
Laura González-Estéfani is a member of our board of directors. Laura is founder, CEO, and general partner of TheVentureCity, an operator-led investor from first ticket to first round.
Since founding TheVentureCity in 2017, Laura has supported over 100 companies. The business has grown its reach to campuses in Miami and Madrid, as well as offices in San Francisco and São Paulo. Before this, Laura worked at Facebook from 2008 to 2017 supporting the platform’s growth initiatives in Silicon Valley, Latin America, Spain, and Portugal.
As Facebook’s first international growth team executive in Europe, she led the company’s development in Spain and Portugal. She then spearheaded Facebook’s mobile and connectivity initiatives to LatAm as the Growth, Mobile & Partnerships Director. Prior to Facebook, Laura held management roles at eBay from 2005 to 2008 and Siemens from 2001 to 2004. In 1999, she co-founded Esplaya.com, the first beach tourism digital platform in Spain.
Laura is a member of the board of the European Commission’s Innovation Council, and a member of the Investment Committee of the EIC Fund. She is also a board member of Caixabank Payments and Consumer.
Laura holds a BA in Audiovisual Communication from the European University of Madrid, and she has completed the Management Development program from Vlerick Business School.
